 Difference Between Formal And Informal  Communication. 

Formal Communication :

• It is written communication.
• It is based upon indirect written documents.
• It follows the principles of scalar chain.
• In it the proof of sending of communication is kept.
• It is the result of authorities granted and duty assigned by employer.
• Messages are clear in writing and as such, there is no cause for  rumour or misunderstanding.
• Messages are authentic under this.

Informal Communication :

• It is verbal communication.
•  It is based upon direct gestures and verbal talks.
• It does not follow the principles of scalar chain.
• There is no proof for sending it.
• It is the result of very intimate relation between employees.
• Informal nature of communication which spreads rumours and creates misunderstanding.
• Message may not be authentic.
