Difference Between Formal And Informal Communication.
Formal Communication :
- It is written communication.
- It is based upon indirect written documents.
- It follows the principles of scalar chain.
- In it the proof of sending of communication is kept.
- It is the result of authorities granted and duty assigned by employer.
- Messages are clear in writing and as such, there is no cause for rumour or misunderstanding.
- Messages are authentic under this.
Informal Communication :
- It is verbal communication.
- It is based upon direct gestures and verbal talks.
- It does not follow the principles of scalar chain.
- There is no proof for sending it.
- It is the result of very intimate relation between employees.
- Informal nature of communication which spreads rumours and creates misunderstanding.
- Message may not be authentic.
