Type of Non Verbal Communication.

 Types of Non Verbal Communication:


1. Body Language or Kinesics :  Kinesics means the study of the role of body movements such as winking, shrugging, etc. in communication.In a face to face communication a person does not communicate only through words, this whole personality his general bearing facial expression, postures and gestures are invołved in the process.A neatly dressed man with pleasant expression will find it easier to establish a rapport with other.

Elements of Body Language :

(a) Personal appearance,

(b) Facial expressions,

(c) Head,

(d) Posture of body positions,

(e) Eye contact,

(f) Gestures.

2. Para Language: The non verbal factors ike tone of voice, the emphasis given, the break in sentence, the speed of delivery, the degree of loudness of softness, and the pitch of the voice, which affect the spoken word is called Para language.

3. Proxemics (Space Distancing): Each communicator has a personal zone and territory built or constructed around himself or herself which he she does not allow to be invaded during communication,unless the relationship between the speaker and the listener to intimate.Halt Edward has described human relationships in terms of four kinds of distances.   


The way people communicate with one another depends upon the proxemics of where the people are in relation to one another.

4. Chronemics (Time): It involves the meaning given in time dimension when we are communicating it to someone. Delay in repling to a personal or business letter, ora phone call early in the morning, coming late etc. are examples of chronemics in Non-verbal communication.

5. Haptics (Touch) : It is the study of how physical contact or touch is used to communicate the ideas of feelings. Stroking, hitting, patting, shaking hands etc. are the important modes of play a role in human behaviour. Example, a gentle touch of friendly hand on the shoulders can communicate encouragement.
